Obituary of Craig L Fry, Jr.

Craig L. Fry, Jr. "Buck" ,69, Armagh, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at home. Buck was born on February 23, 1945 the son of the late Craig L Fry, Sr. and Margaret A. Schonek in Johnstown. He lived his entire life in the Armagh area. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gretchen Altemus and Barbara Kinyon, sister-in-law Kathleen Fry, brother-in-law William Altemus, In-laws James Recupero, Sr and Emma Recupero. Survived by wife Karen M.(Recupero) with 48 years of marriage, the following children: Craig L. Fry III and wife Brenda (Smathers), Armagh; James J. Fry and wife Clancy (Silk), New Florence, Greta Marie Means and husband Kevin, Armagh. Eight grandchildren: Tiffany Austin, Haley Audrey, Craig L. IV, Cole Joseph, Maizee Jo, Mollee Jo, Luke William and Joseph Craig. Also survived by brothers William R. Fry. Sr. and wife Shirley, Mainville, OH; Wilbur "Tom" Fry and friend Sandi, Armagh and brother-in-law Robert Kinyon, Marietta, GA. Buck was a graduate of United High School, class of 1963. He spent 8 years in the Marine Corps Reserves and was Honorably Discharged. Retired from Hunt Oil, Inc of Johnstown. He was a member of the Armagh-Seward Presbyterian Church where he served as a ruling elder and church treasurer. Buck was a life member of the Armagh and East Wheatfield Twp. Vol. Fire Co., serving for 48 years, many of which was at the treasurer level. He was always working various fundraisers for his community. Buck also served his community by being elected Township Supervisor and Township Auditor for many years. He was an active member of the East Wheatfield Twp. Sportsmen's Assoc., serving as president for over 24 years. Buck loved to hunt and enjoyed many years bear hunting with his sons, family and companions out of Camp Hardy, Clearfield PA. He was a member and former president of the Conemaugh Valley Deatchment, Marine Corp League, NRA and AARP. Buck wanted to especially thank his loyal doctors who took excellent care of him in his illness, including Dr. Dennis Eckels, Dr. David Schwartzman, Dr. AJ Conrad Smith, and Dr. Marc Simon. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, and in accord with his wishes, please make a donation to The Armagh and East Wheatfield Volunteer Fire Company, The East Wheatfield Township Sportsmen's Association, The Armagh-Seward Presbyterian Church, or a charity of one's own choosing. Friends received 6-8 PM Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St. Armagh where service will be held 10 am Monday. Rev. Rick Corbett officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery. Military rite by Conemaugh Valley Marine Corps League.
