Obituary of Thelma Jean Ewel

Ewel, Thelma Jean, 88, New Florence passed away March 3, 2015 at home. Born November 8, 1926 and was raised in Altoona the daughter of late Earl and Mary (Hartsock) Knepp. Also preceded in death by first husband Clifford Knee; sons Vincent and John Michael Knee; daughter Robin Eckert and brother Jesse Knepp. Survived by husband Oscar Ewel; children LaBonna Lee, Claysburg; David Knee and wife Judy and Joy Karns, all of Bedford; Ilgra Eckert, McKeesport; Timothy Knee and wife Pam, Erie; Kelly Miller and husband Patrick, Bradenville; grandson Shawn Curtis, New Florence; granddaughter Melissa Curtis, Indianapolis and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Marie Crossland, Altoona; and faithful pet Tessie. She was known around the area for crafting stuff dolls and other trinkets. Enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives. In her later years Jean befriended numerous vendors at Jonnet Flea Market in Blairsville. Friends received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier Street, New Florence, where service will be held 11 am Saturday. Internment Fairfield Cemetery.
