Obituary of Raymond J. Cowan

Cowan, Raymond J., 91, Clyde, passed away June 12, 2016 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born May 17, 1925 in Johnstown son of late Joseph Cowan and Martha (Rodak) Cowan Dorian. Also preceded in death by daughter Rae Deana "Dee Dee" Roach; brother Joseph Cowan, Jr. Survived by wife of 68 years Marjorie (Luther) Cowan; daughter Sharon Mack and husband Dave, Clyde; grandchildren Leslie Simmons and Rob Loveridge, Clyde; Tracey Sisitki and husband Rod, Midland, MI; great-grandchildren Gianna Simmons, Daeva Simmons, Haley Sisitki and Ryan Sisitki; sister Dorothy Kubinsky, Johnstown; special lifetime friend John George. Ray was a loving and devoted husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was always anxious and willing to help anyone in need. An avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and gardening but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. A true patriot who served his country in the Army Air Corps 36th Fighter Control Squadron in China, Burma and India. He was a member of the New Florence V.F.W., American Legion and Indiana Elks. One of the founding member of Clyde Vol. Fire Co. He served on the United School District Board of Education for 18 years, serving serval as board president. Also was United Booster Club president in the 1960's. Worked for 44 years for Keystone Auto Products in Johnstown, serving a number of years as president of the Company. Friends received Wednesday from 6-8 PM and 9 am till time of service 11 am Thursday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh. Rev. Robert Washko officiating. Interment Bethel Cemetery.
