Obituary of Archie L. Akers

Archie LeRoy Akers, 46, Armagh passed away December 5, 2016 at home. Born October 21, 1970 in Indiana the son of Charles LeRoy Akers and Violet Dale (Erb) Akers Colgan. Preceded in death by mother. Survived by wife Lisa (Lichtenfels) Akers; daughter Emily Akers, at home; father Charles LeRoy Akers and his wife Janet, Homer City; father-in-law and mother-in-law Richard and Susan Lichtenfels, Armagh; nephew and godson Ryan Richard Lichtenfels; nieces Chelsea and Maggie Lichtenfels; and several other nieces and nephews; brothers and sister Paul Colgan, Homer City; Donald Colgan, Jr., Johnstown; Chris Steffish, Indiana; Jennifer Kinter, Homer City and Chad Akers, Indiana; brother-in-law Rick Lichtenfels, Brush Valley and adopted Grandma Sophia Kuzminski, Armagh. Archie enjoyed his motorcycle, riding ATV’s, operating RC cars and tinkering in his shop. He also enjoyed watching his daughter play basketball and attending all her activities. He will be missed by his faithful black Labrador companion, Holly. They could be found playing Frisbee, ball and napping Holly and Archie were also together and his devoted fat cat RyRy who could always be found waiting on the couch at nap time. He was the type of guy who would give the shirt off his back and had many friends who would visit him. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh where service will be held 10 am Friday. Rev. Robert Washko officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to family to assist with funeral expenses.
