Obituary of Virginia L Rummel

Rummel, Virginia L., 99, New Florence passed away January 30, 2017 at LaurelWood Care Center. Born December 15, 1917 in New Florence the daughter of late Joseph S. and Antonio Barbara (Biela) Chesla. Also preceded in death by husband George Rummel; brothers John, Frank, and Andrew Chesla; sisters Kathryn Demko, Anna Cardarella, Sophia Smyder, Helen Lazarowicz, Rose Komarinsky and Mary Moore. Survived by daughter Gloria Kelley and husband David, Johnstown; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends E. Ruth Moore, Vickie Foster and Helen James. Virginia was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward and the former St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Florence, C.D.A. and Laurel Valley Senior Center, New Florence. She was well known for her abilities to grow flowers and various plants. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. Mass of Christian burial 10 am Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 425 Bridge St., Seward, PA 15944. Rev. Robert Washko officiating. Interment SS Simon & Jude Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Laurel Valley Senior Center, PO Box 366, New Florence, PA 15944.
