Obituary of Kermit C. Turner

Turner, Kermit C., 86, Homer City, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family March 5, 2017. Born December 19, 1930 in Reedsville, WV, he is the son of the late Ray and Carrie (Vickers) Turner Kethover. Also, preceded in death by son George Joseph Turner; brothers Bernard, Francis, Mason and Leslie Turner; sister Gladys Sapp; son-in-law James Tantlinger. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Oneida J. (Campbell) Turner. Children Thelma Jean Platko and husband James, Homer City; Alfred "Terry" Turner and wife Claire, Homer City; Carrie Mae Tantlinger, Homer City. 9 grandchildren 3 step-grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren. Sisters Thelma Jane Smith and husband Bill, Gladesville, WV; Dorothy Gibson, Baltimore, MD; Leila Stone and husband Richard, Black Lick. U.S. Army Veteran and retired equipment operator for PennDot. Kermit was a member of the Wesleyn Methodist church and attended Gospel Community Church. He was also a member of the Eagles and enjoyed camping, traveling, blue grass music and word search puzzles. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 PM, Tuesday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh, PA where service will be held Wednesday at 11AM. Rev. Robert Thornton officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery.
