Obituary of Elizabeth Claire Graffius

Graffius, Claire (Sutter), 85, Johnstown passed away April 21, 2017 at LaurelWood Care Center. Born July 10, 1931 in Oakland, MD the daughter of late Clarence H. and Mary E. Harkins Sutter. Also, preceded in death by husband Donald Graffius, brother Edward W. Sutter and wife Joann; sister Patricia G. Zaragoza and husband Richard. Survived by nephews John Zaragoza and wife Marce, Port Orange FL; Mike Zaragoza and girlfriend Patti Kurschat, Many Lakes, MT; Edward D. Sutter and wife Karel, New Florence; niece Beth Ann Sitman and husband Robert, Bellwood; numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Claire was an avid reader, who enjoyed gardening, her flowers and her weekly trip to the beauty salon. She was an adult literacy volunteer and a very proud and independent woman. Friends received from 4-7 pm Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 425 Bridge St., Seward. Future Inurnment Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Claire's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
