Obituary of James S. "Jim" McLaren

McLaren, James S. "Jim", 76, Seward, passed away March 16, 2018 at home. Born December 16, 1941 in Indiana, raised by foster parents Mr. & Mrs. T. R. Lyda in Blacklick, PA. He was preceded in death by his, foster parents and his parents John S. & Elise R. McLaren; brothers John R. McLaren and Defoe McLaren; sister Betty Jo Deglau; son-in-law David Ross; grandson Joshua Rohrabaugh. Survived by wife Shirley A. Hirsch-McLaren; brothers William F. McLaren and wife Maire, Blairsville; George E. McLaren and wife Jaca, Fairhope, AL; sister Edna Louise Boughman and husband James of CA; children Tammy Lynn (McLaren) McGeary and husband Gregg, Blackwood, NJ; James W. McLaren and wife Sharon, Sewell, NJ ; grandchildren Emily Rose and Liam G McGeary, both of Blackwood, NJ; Bristol Rose McLaren, Sewell, NJ ; step-children Colin and Patrick; Penny Boring and husband Gordon, Katherine Wolfe and husband Thomas, Dianna Kolesar and husband Bryan, Joseph Hirsch and wife Renee, John Hirsch, Jr., and wife Jennifer, James Hirsch, Joanne Ross; step-grandchildren William Zack, Jennifer Wissinger, Kayla Rohrabaugh, Brenna Kolesar, D.J. Ross, Sydney Hirsch, Jacob Hirsch, Samuel Hirsch, Samanthia Warfel, Jennie Hirsch, James A. Hirsch, Jr.; 12 step great-grandchildren. Jim was a retired truck driver for M&C Trucking, Seward. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W and a life member of the N.R.A. A U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era. Jim was most comfortable operating construction equipment and hauling various types of raw material and finish products. Friends received 2 - 4 and 7-9 PM Sunday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh and 10 AM till time of service 11 AM Monday at Armagh United Methodist Church, 570 W. Philadelphia Street Ext. Armagh. Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment Blairsville Cemetery. Military honors by local veteran's organization.
