Obituary of Dan Cobaugh

John Daniel “Dan” Cobaugh, 70, Roaring Spring passed away peacefully February 16, 2025, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.  He was born April 25, 1954, in Johnstown, the son of the late John T. and Ethel E. (Ramsey) Cobaugh.  Also preceded in death by in-laws Stanley and Marisa (Filidei) Mroczka, niece Jean Lyn (Wisniewski) Scherzinger, and brother-in-law Philip Paine.

Dan is survived by loving wife of 38 years Cathy (Mroczka) Cobaugh, sisters Debra Paine, Florida; Gloria (Frank) Wisniewski, Altoona; Kimberly (Brian) McDermott, Vinco; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Chris (Tony) Greenawalt, Indiana; and Cheryl (Mark) Rosenberger, Armagh.  Nieces and nephews Rebecca Noss, Robert (Amy) Paine, Michael (Gina) Paine, Francis Wisniewski, Alissa (Victor) Menin, Kristen (Robert) Frederick, Morgan (Matt) Occhuizzo, Jenal Greenawalt, Luke (Angel) Rosenberger, Laken (Timothy) Brendlinger, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dan was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest.  He enjoyed boating at Raystown Lake, riding his E bike and Can-Am, and going to his home in Florida. He loved his two cats Fuzzy and Slick. Dan was a long-time car enthusiast who worked for Leitenberger’s and Zeigler Chevrolet.  Dan was the kindest person who just loved everybody.  If you were anywhere near him, life became a celebration.  He could make you feel like you were the reason for the party- whether you knew him for five minutes or fifty years.  If you knew Dan, you had a friend and that’s why everyone loved him so much. And that is why everyone will miss him so much!  Dan’s favorite saying was “In this world by God there are big ships and there are little ships, but there’s nothing like friendships”.

Friends received 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm Saturday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh.  Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm Sunday at Vinco Brethren Church, 123 Adams Ave, Mineral Point, PA 15942.  Pastor Zac Yonko.  Interment Armagh Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dan’s name may be made to UPMC Children’s Hospital, 4401 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224 or Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, 4771 E Loop Rd, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.  Online condolences may be made at www.thestuartfuneralhomes.com
