Obituary of Leanne Wascak

Leanne (Hess) Wascak, 87, Armagh passed into the arms of her loving God, joining her beloved husband Jim, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.  Leanne was at home surrounded by her loving children.  Born September 19, 1937, Leanne was the daughter of the late Francis Hess and Wanda K. (Lawhead) O’Neill.

Survived by children Robin Gibson & husband Keith, New Florence; Laura LaMore and husband Greg, Grand Haven, Michigan; Dawn Short, Ebensburg; Gloria Butler and husband Patrick; Indiana; Patrick Hirsch and wife Tanya, Homer City. Grandchildren Alex Gibson and wife Kathy; Rebecca Holdsworth and husband Dylan; Alison Irwin and husband John; Benjamin McClure; Ian Short and wife Carley; Amanda Short and fiancé Brian Goss; Erica Lichtenfels and husband Dan; Cecilia “Ceci” Butler; Samantha “Sammi” Hirsch; 8 great-grandchildren, and two on the way.  Bonus daughter Shana Stiles and husband Josh, Armagh, and their children Hayley and Chloe; brother-in-law Ed Wascak and wife Veronica, several nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and many neighbors and friends who were like family.

Leanne was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church.  Leanne loved her family and loved road trips with the “4 Amigos”.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, classic TV shows and reading the news.   

Family and friends will be received at 10:00 AM on Monday March 31, 2025, immediately followed by a celebration of life mass at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 425 Bridge St., Seward.  Interment Armagh Cemetery.  Arrangements in the care of Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, Armagh.
