Obituary of Gene Crone

Eugene Ray Crone of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at Chambersburg hospital.  Born June 10, 1946, to Stanley and Helen Crone.

Eugene graduated from Easton Area High School in 1964 before serving in Vietnam in the U.S. Navy.  He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp for 32 years, 15 of those years spent as an officer with The United Steel Workers Local 2599.

Eugene’s wife Patricia (Skedel) Crone passed away December 12, 2022 and is survived by his daughters Heather and husband Michael Cardeiro of King of Prussia and Stephanie Smith and partner Mike of Easton, Pennsylvania, and step-son William Vanni and wife Rebecca Powell of Dayton, Texas;  grandchildren Shane, Nicholas and Gabrielle Cardeiro, Peyton Hochwarter, Olivia Smith, Zoe Fritz and Tyler, Autumn and Chloe Vanni and several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony for friends and family will be held May 19, 2025, at the burial site, Armagh Cemetery.
