Obituary of Richard L Mort

Richard L. Mort, Sr., 77, New Florence, formerly of Armagh, went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2025.  Born January 8, 1948, in Hooversville, the son of the late Francis E. and Camelia Mae (Richie) Mort.  Also preceded in death by wife of 54 years Linda M. (Zips) Mort, brother James Mort and sister Patricia Smith.

 

Survived by children Richard L. Mort, Jr and wife Dianne, Brush Valley and Tammy Slippy and husband Robert A., Armagh.  Grandsons Noah Slippy and wife Jaelynn, and Devon Slippy.  Brother Rev. Larry Mort and wife Deborah, Pittsburgh.

 

Dick was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, F&AM Greater Johnstown Lodge # 538 and Jaffa Shrine, Altoona.  He was a US Navy Veteran of Vietnam War, and avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, who enjoyed Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and Ford Mustangs.

 

Friends received 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Monday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh and 10AM till time of service 11am Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, 6810 Rt. 22 Hwy E. New Florence.  Rev. Jonathan Adams officiating.  Interment Armagh Cemetery. Military honors by the US Navy and Blairsville Military Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital Erie, www.shrinerschildrens.org
