Obituary of Emerson A. Bufagna

Emerson Bufagna, 92, of Armagh passed away April 17. 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Emerson was born on December 11, 1923 in Dilltown, where he resided until 2009. He was the son of the late Joseph Bufagna and Josephine Mackanick Bufagna. Emerson served in the U.S. Navy and was a WWII veteran. He worked in the coal mines for 50 years and was the owner, along with his wife, of Buffy's Tavern from 1970 to 1982. Survived by son, Joseph Bufagna, Sr. of Dilltown, former daughter-in-law Linda Bufagna of Dilltown, Grandson Joseph Bufagna, Jr. and wife Heather of Armagh; granddaughter Bridget Robertson and husband Brandon of Armagh; granddaughter Lisa Benincosa and husband Bill, of St. Augustine, FL. Great-grandchildren Antonio, Dominico, and Angelina Bufagna and Trey and Alyssa Benincosa. Also survived by serveral nieces and nephews. Emerson was preceded in death by parents, wife of 69 years Dora Bufagna, who passed away on April 16, 2014; sisters Mildred Parmigiani and Rose Bufagna; brothers Nick Bufagna and Donald Bufagna. Emerson was a kind, gentle, loving man who loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's athletic events. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A memorial celebrating life will be held at a later date.
