Obituary of Gladys Rose Hoover

Gladys Rose (Williams) Hoover, 97, of New Florence, died peacefully Monday, March 5, 2012, at home. Born April 7, 1914, in Fairfield Township, she was the daughter of late Evan Benjamin and Annie May (McBroom) Williams; also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Neff Hoover; six sisters, four brothers and two infant brothers. Gladys is survived by her children, William N. (Kari Sorhaug) Hoover, of Princeton, N.J., and Alice White, of New Florence with her mother; grandchildren, Elizabeth Moore, of Princeton, N.J., Ingrid Smith, of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Emily Schuller, of Needham, Mass.; and six great-grandchildren. Gladys was a lifelong and eldest member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in New Florence. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at KENNETH A. STUART FUNERAL HOME, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Trinity Presbyterian Church, 117 Chestnut St., New Florence, with the Rev. Barry Young and the Rev. John J. McClure officiating. Interment at Bethel Cemetery
