Obituary of Joan Irene Foust

Foust, Joan Irene “Joby”, 88, Bolivar passed away October 16, 2018 at Ligonier Gardens surrounded by her family after a long illness.  Born September 22, 1930 in Lockport, PA the daughter of the late Bryan L. and Carrie A. (Hysong) Short.  Also, preceded in death by husband Arnold Adam Foust; sisters Jane Bush, Violet May Burkett, and Helen Robinson Libengood; brothers Donald and Charles Short.

 

Survived by loving sons Brad Foust and wife Connie; Fabian Foust and wife Carol; Nathan Foust and wife Linda, all of Bolivar.  Nine grandchildren Erik Foust, Jason Foust, Benjamin Foust, Mandi Foust, Adam Foust, Margo Pringle, Yvette Saxton, Jesi Foust and Tyler Foust.  23 great-grandchildren; brother Joseph Short, Pleasant Unity. 

 

Joby was a member of Church of Christ, West Bolivar, VFW Auxiliary in Robinson, American Legion Auxiliary in Bolivar.  She was one of the family partnership for “Ligonier Bottling Works” with her sister, brothers and husband in the 1960’s, a former employee of Torrance State Hosp., and sales rep for Beeline Fashions. Joby had a love for music where she wrote songs, sang and played both piano and guitar.  She was a big supporter of her grandchildren sporting games, her family and her church. She also enjoyed her high school class reunions.

 

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence where service will be held 11 AM Friday.  Ray Lee officiating.  Interment Germany Lutheran Cemetery.
