Obituary of Linda Lee Baxter

Linda Lee Baxter, 70, Kennesaw, Ga, formerly of Kansas City, MO; Boston, MA; and Seward, PA, passed away July 22, 2020. Born March 28, 1950 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of the late Albert and Joann (Gully) Filat. A 1968 graduate of Laurel Valley High School, Linda went on to further her education at Hartford Airline School, in Boston she met the man that she would spend the rest of her life with, George Baxter. They professed their love for each other and were united in marriage on May 8, 1971 at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church in East Boston, Mass. In May of 1969 Linda started her career at TWA Airlines, where she would meet her “sister” Bethany Donaleski, a friendship that lasted a lifetime. Through out their years with the airlines, through mergers and moves Linda and Bethany stayed together. There friendship was strong, and you could always find Linda and George with Bethany and Larry on many vacations, excursions and holidays. Linda or also know as “Bax” by her work family was a very meticulous worker and took her job seriously but she was also a very generous person her friendships she formed with her co-workers where so special to her. They were her family, she celebrated when they celebrated and hurt when they hurt. She made sure everyone knew they were special to her. She always was giving something out, she found great joy in being able to give to others. She was selfless in her giving and never expected anything in return. Her Italian heritage came out in the office, she always would bring in food and treats for everyone. She was the catalyst behind her work groups Christmas cookies to thank folks in the groups who support their work efforts. If she knew there was something someone really liked she made sure it was there every time. You never knew when she would show up to work with bagels or donuts for the staff. She was there for her friends through good times and bad, she was one that would stand by your side and support you through what ever came your way. She was a rock to many people and always ready with one of her amazing bear hugs.
