Obituary of Kirk J. Fisher

Kirk Fisher, 69, of Armagh went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, 2-4-24, with his devoted wife of 47 years by his side. Born October 8, 1954, in Johnstown, the son of the late Joseph and Wilda Jean (Brown) Fisher. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca. In addition to his wife, Christine, he is also survived by his daughters Jenni and Patti; grandsons Cameron and Calix; brother, Christopher, and sister, Myra.  He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, extended family, and co-workers. 

Kirk was an avid reader and loved to learn.  He was a mechanic from a young age throughout adulthood and was a coal miner for 23 years.  He started a rigorous college retraining program in 1999, where he excelled.  He completed his degree to become a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at Mount Aloysius College in 2001 and was the first in his class to pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).  These were among the happiest times in his life.  He worked for Vantage Physical Therapy as a PTA for 15 years.

Kirk was an adventurer.  He enjoyed travel and adventures with his wife.  He especially enjoyed their trips to Hawaii, Australia, and Alaska.  He enjoyed exploring, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, cooking, reading, and spending time with his family.  In his younger years while raising his daughters, he spent a lot of time camping with family and friends, where many great memories were made.  He adored his grandsons and loved to take them on adventures and spend time with them outdoors.  Kirk will be remembered by his wife and daughters with the deepest gratitude, love, and respect for being the best provider and hard worker throughout his life.  His grandsons will always remember his love, quirkiness, sense of humor, and work ethic.

Kirk’s family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thanks to Art and Mar for devoting their time, love, and care during Kirk’s final days.

Friends will be received at Richard C Stuart Funeral Home 392 E. Philadelphia Street, Armagh on Saturday from 10-2, with Celebration of Life beginning directly after at 2:00, Pastor Dawn Krishart, officiating.
