Obituary of Heidi S Glessner

Heidi S. Glessner, 97, formerly of Seward passed away February 21, 2024, at Indian Haven.  Born May 6, 1926, in Poland the daughter of late Emil and Elisabeth Schega.  Also preceded in death by husband George Glessner, son Wayne Glessner, grandchildren Melissa McCubbin, and Adam Burda, brother John Schega. 

Survived by children Ursula Conti and husband Clyde, Slippery Rock; David Glessner and wife Mary Ann, La Plata, MD; Barbara Burda and husband Daniel, Homer City; Terry Glessner and wife Carrie Mae, Vintondale; Jennifer Glessner, Fredericksburg, VA; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchild.  Brother Karl Schega, Germany. 

Heidi was a gentle spirit who adored her family.  A devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with family.  She was a longtime member of Seward Methodist Church, former employee of Glosser Brothers, and contributed to the “Your Ligonier Valley Neighbors” section in the Ligonier Echo for years.  She was active in the PTA and Seward Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Aux.  Heidi enjoyed gardening and will be remembered for her beautiful flower garden. 

Heidi’s family would like to express their Sincere gratitude to Dr Matthew Klain and the staff on the 200 hall of Indian Haven for the loving care they gave her.

No public visitation, funeral service for family and friends 11 am Saturday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh. Rev. Scott Hamley officiating.  Interment Armagh Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Seward Methodist Church, PO Box 426, Seward, PA 15954.
