Obituary of Arnold T. Patterson
Arnold T. “Jake” Patterson, 99, Seward, passed away November 29, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 24, 1925, in Johnstown, the last surviving child of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Heinrich) Patterson. Also preceded in death by wife Dorothy Jean (Colananni) Patterson; son David R Patterson; sisters Dorothy Keelan, Margaret Burkett, Ethel “Mae” Yeager; brothers Ernest “Pat”, Carl “Pete”, and Leo “Lee” Patterson; son-in-law Will Makowski.
Survived by daughter Linda Makowski, Seward; grandsons Reed Ludwig, Johnstown; Jacob Patterson and wife Nicole, Robinson; Davey Patterson and fiancé Natalie, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Cooper, Layla Rose, Cameron, and Sadie; daughter-in-law Chris (Killinger) Patterson.
Jake was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, a US Army Veteran of WW II, member of New Florence VFW, and Byers-Tosh American Legion, Ligonier. He enjoyed his cigars, going out to eat, taking walks, watching Westerns, reading road maps and atlases. Jake was a driver for Hutchison Bus Lines and Super Oil. Jake enjoyed the time spent with his grandsons and great-grandchildren.
Friends received 2-6 pm Sunday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 425 Bridge Street, Seward. Rev. Fr. John Harrold officiating. Future interment Armagh Cemetery.
