Obituary of Paul W. Ludwig
Paul W. Ludwig, 86, New Florence passed away surrounded by his family February 23, 2025, at Independence Health Latrobe Hospital. Born January 23, 1939, the son of the late Joseph and Carrie (Travis) Ludwig. Paul grew up in Seward enjoying all that a small town had to offer. Paul graduated from Laurel Valley H.S. in 1958. He served in the National Guard. Paul followed his father and brothers’ footsteps and had a career at Penelec as a journeyman lineman spanning 32 years. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing softball. He helped his wife Nancy with making crafts to sell for many years. He also enjoyed spending time with his close friend Joe Flickinger chopping wood for their houses. Paul enjoyed all the Pittsburgh sports and found pleasure relaxing, watching T.V., eating his pretzels and candy. Paul was always kind, willing to lend a hand to whoever was in need, and always ready to make you laugh. His blue eyes sparkled when he laughed with you.
Paul was also preceded in death by brother Louis and wife Mary, Eugene and wife Carol, and infant brother Robert Ludwig, and brother-in-law Tom Duncan.
Survived by a loving wife of 63 years Nancy (Tosh) Ludwig, sons Robert Ludwig and wife Judy, Richard Ludwig and wife Amy, Rodney Ludwig and wife Chris, Russell Ludwig and wife Miranda. Grandchildren Rob and wife Amy, Jessica and husband Tim, Jeremy, Patrick, Emma, Jenna, and Caleb. Great grandchildren Joy and Grace. Sister Kay Ludwig.
