Obituary of Karen Susan Nixon

Nixon, Karen “Suzie”, 62, Robinson, passed away January 1, 2014. Born March 29, 1951 in West Bolivar the daughter of late Joseph Silk and Betty (Garland) Silk Ferri. Also preceded in death by step-father Joseph Ferri, grandfather Levi Silk and numerous other family members. Survived by husband of 33 years Richard A. Nixon Jr.; children Dewayne “Bud” Donahue, West Bolivar, Peggy Rager, Seward, Andrew Nixon Westerville, OH; Joseph Nixon, Houtzdale; grandsons Ryan Scott Donahue, Jordan Michael James, Brandon Austin James, Joseph Dallas Nixon, Kyle Matthew Nixon, and “she loved her babies” Aunt Hope Garland and numerous extended family. Member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was active with the Fish Fry Committee. Retired Head Cook at United Elemetary School where she was past president of PSEA Support Staff. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and camping. Friends received 6-9 PM Friday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence, PA where service will be held 2 pm Saturday. Rev. Paul Poersche Officiating. Internment Germany Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Conemaugh Regional Hospice, 315 Locust St. Ste. 5E, Johnstown, Pa 15901 or the American Cancer Society, 1165 Philadelphia St., Indiana, PA 15701.
