Obituary of Harry C Thompson

Thompson, Harry C., 87, Clyde, passed away January 3, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown. Born August 23, 1927 in Pine Twp., Indiana County the son of late Clair F. and M. Edna (Fetterman) Thompson. Also preceded in death by son Harry Wayne Thompson and brothers Roy, George, Murray and John Thompson and sister Martha Byers. Survived by wife Florence (Bartlebaugh) Thompson and children Robert "Bob" Thompson and wife Mary Ann, Lake Havasu City, AZ; Norman Thompson, Dilltown, Cynthia Marino, Armagh; Eldon John Thompson and wife Debbie, Ruckersville, VA; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister Kezia Getty and husband Robert, Parma, OH. Mr. Thompson was a coal miner, mine supervisor and federal coal mine inspector/supervisor during his working career. He was a member, elder and church treasurer of the Bolivar United Presbyterian Church for many years. He was an Army veteran who belonged to the V.F.W. and American Legion. He was an active member of Indiana County Shrine Club who also belonged to the Masonic Temple, Jaffa Shrine, Altoona, and Indiana NARFE. Friends received 3 to 5 PM Monday at the Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home Armagh, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh, and 12:30 till time of service 1 PM Tuesday at the Bolivar United Presbyterian Church, 712 Lincoln St., Bolivar, with Pastor James Sunseri officiating. Interment Rowley Cemetery, Hillsdale. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bolivar U.P. Church
