Mike joined the 548th Light Maintenance Company (DS), the Company I took to Vietnam from Ft. Lewis in 1966, shortly after I rotated, so I never had a chance to meet face to face, but we became friends in 2011 after we began to find members of the unit. We missed Mike and Debi at the reunion we had 2 weeks ago in Las Vegas. Mike called me and said he had been in the hospital and was out but confined to home and would miss the reunion. I told him we would miss him and Debi and ai would mail the T-Shirts he had ordered when I got back.I talked to him early last week and he was driving somewhere and said he was feeling a little better. I could not believe it when I received.Debi's e-mail this morning advising of Mike's passing.
My heart goes out to Debi' and all of the Bartley family for the loss of a great guy.
Love and peace to you all.

Mike you were a great roommate and turned into a great friend. Having a beer at Harold's won't be the same with out calling you and giving you a bad time. The Scottsdale coffee club had a million great Bartley stories all told with a big smile on their faces with never a discouraging word. A life well lived my friend hope to see you on the other side. your old roommate Mike Johnston

The Lessing Family extends its deepest sympathy to you. I had the honor and pleasure to work with Mike on occasion in my capacity as Prosecutor for the City of North Ridgevile, Ohio in the 70's. I also worked with Mike in the Grafton community, participating with our sons in the Cub Scouts Webelos. As a jogger, I ran with him in a few local races. To this day, I still quote him on occasion with one of his favorites: "Close enough for government work!" Mike left an indelible mark on all those he touched, including me. In your loss, may you be comforted by knowing that Mike had such a positive influence on so many people. Please accept our sincere condolences.

Debi and families,
Barbara and I are saddened to learn of Mike's passing and extend our condolences. Many fond memories at community clean-up days and collecting parts and materials to stock the
"tinkertorium" !!! Of course labeling most of the items as "Debi's Stuff" and laughing heartily, as Mike often did. He will be missed by all of the volunteers.

So sad to hear of Mike's passing. We became friends while I was a FBI Agent serving in Youngstown, Ohio. We worked on some cases together, in particular while on temporary assignments. Mike was a great guy and I really feel bad that our lives after the Bureau took us to different cities, Phoenix and Las Vegas. The family I'm sure is very proud of Mike's reputation and of his many personal and business successes. Thank God we will always have our memories of his wit and charm.

To Mike's family. I worked with Mike on the Caribbean Task Force and a finer LEO you could not find. Mike's compassion even for the people we arrested was one of his finest qualities. Loved the man and will miss him greatly. So sorry for your loss.

Dear Bartley Family, I am so sorry for your loss. My dad and Mr. Bartley were partners in the Elyria office. I have so many memories of their shenanigans and of the great partnership they had. They were truly a great pair and I am honored to have benefitted from knowing and learning from them both. God bless you Mr. Bartley. And thank you for having my dads back.

Mr. Bartley and my dad William Barcklay were long time FBI partners in Elyria, Ohio. Our families shared a special relationship due to our dads. So many great memories listening to their stories. When my dad passed 15 years ago from ALS, Mike never stopped his support for myself and my siblings.
Mr Bartley, we will miss you! I know you and my dad will be watching us from heaven, together once again, as partners and as great friends. Thank you for sharing yourself and allowing us into your life!
Katie and Kevin, so many years have passed since last seeing all of you! Your dad just mailed me an article about my dad about 2 months ago, made be so happy. Keep telling the great memories of your dad to all. Sending prayers and hugs to both of you and your families! I am so sorry for your loss!

I am so sorry for your loss (and ours also). I have nothing but happy memories of Mike and Katie from the Midview band trip, the times we worked together when I was with Cleveland PD, Lorain county drug task force, in Arizona on a case, and the last time I saw him in Elyria. Prayers are with the family.
