Obituary of Doris Louise Galbraith
Doris Louise (Fritz) Galbraith, 86, of New Florence went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2017. She was born on January 9, 1931 at home in Fairfield Twp. daughter of the late Harry and Rosetta (Johnston) Fritz and met her husband Charles in 1941 in the one room Tubmill School. She then married her childhood sweetheart in 1951. They spent nearly the next 66 years building a beautiful life and family together making everlasting memories. Doris loved to bake and was known for her famous cinnamon rolls and gobs. She also enjoyed flowers, being outside, sewing and quilting. Doris was a retired cafeteria worker from Ligonier Valley School District. Most important to her was her love for God, her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved having all the family home together. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and loving husband of nearly 66 years Charles Richard Galbraith; children Cathy (Mrs. Roger) Melville of Annville, Charles W. and Donna (Shearer) Galbraith of Seven Fields, David and Debra (Betton) Galbraith of Michigan, Daniel and JoAnn (Frick) Galbraith of Greensburg; grandchildren Melissa (Mrs. James) Heming, Crystal (Mrs. David) Stockmaster, Brenton Galbraith, Nolan Galbraith and husband Tony Jones, Tiffany, Bradley and Lauren Galbraith; and great-grandchildren James and Gabrielle Heming and Zachary Stockmaster. She is also survived by sister Alice Beuten, Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters Mary Shearer and Ruth Roble and brother Donald Fritz. Friends received 4-8 pm Friday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence and 9 till time of service 10 am Saturday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 117 Chestnut Street, New Florence. Rev. Carole Isley-Corey officiating.
