Obituary of John Sbardella

John R. "Spud" Sbardella, 88, Brush Valley died December 2, 2011 at home. Born March 31, 1923 in Tumbill area of St. Clair Twp. the son of late Giocomo "Jack" and Amibile "Mabel" (Damin) Sbardella. Also preceded in death by first wife Olga "Jerri" (Zilko) Sbardella, brothers Anthony, Peter, Candido "Tito," Raymond and Louis; and sisters Mary Sommavilla, Lillian Beeker and Joanna Piasente. Loving husband of Kathryn (Glessner) Sbardella; Devoted Dad to John R. Sbardella Jr. and wife Adele, Brush Valley; Lucille Thornton, Johannesburg, South Africa; Delcine Sbardella, Brush Valley; Juliana C. Meyers and husband Christopher, Burlington, CT; step-daughters Norma Glusko and husband Ted, Seward; Bonnie Danks and husband William, Manistee, MI; grandchildren Michael and Jake Sbardella, Colin, Aaron and Juliana Thornton, Emmett McMillen, Jennifer, Jason, Tina and Melanie Meyers; step-grandchildren Ted Glusko, Tracy Hall, Kimberly Pfeil, William and Sam Danks; great-grandchildren Hunter McMillen and John Christopher Meyers; 10-step-great-grandchildren; sister Justina Luffy, Penn Hills. Spud was a keen family man known for his unique sense of humor. He was an over 50 year member of Carpenter's Union Local 1419, Johnstown and member of NRA, avid hunter and outdoorsman, sports enthusiast, especially United Football. Played High School football for New Florence H.S. Friends received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence where service will be held at 11 AM on Monday. Rev. Hans-Peter Helmers officiating. Interment Fairfield Cemetery.
