Obituary of Bernice Mack

Mack, Becie, 91, New Florence, passed away on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Born December 21, 1926 in New Florence, the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Roth) Hutchison. Also preceded in death by husband Harold “Hike” Mack; and brother Fred Hutchison; father-in-law and mother-in-law Merle and Ida (Hall) Mack.  Survived by sons George Mack and wife Diane; Fred Mack and wife Kathy, both of New Florence; grandchildren Seth Mack and wife Shannon, New Florence; Melissa Neach and husband Chris, Leesburg, VA; Kendra Mack and husband David Williams, Littleton, CO; Lindsay Rice and husband Ryan, Fairfax, VA; Adam Pozar, New Florence; great-grandchildren Dylan, Zachary and Rylea; good friends Dorothy Loughner, Lavina Ritenour and Inez Rager. 

Becie was a member of Germany United Methodist Church and O.E.S., Fort Ligonier Chapter for over 50 years.  She was owner/operator of St. Clair Store from 1964 to 1979; worked at the New Florence Library; enjoyed reading, word scramble puzzles and pinochle.  She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Becie’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Conemaugh Home Health Care and Hospice, Dr. Leech and staff, and her care givers Ed Pease, Sue Howe, Courtney Penrose, Carrie Malnofsky, Kim Caldwell and Helen Hill.

Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Sunday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home 139 Ligonier Street, New Florence were service will be held 11 AM Monday.  Pastor Brenda L. Schall officiating.  Internment Armagh Cemetery.  In lieu or flowers memorial donations may be made to New Florence Community Library, 122 Ligonier St. or Germany United Methodist Church, 351 Clawson Rd., both New Florence, PA 15944.
