Obituary of Tom Luther
Thomas C. Luther, 82, New Florence passed away November 28, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born July 25, 1937 the son of the late J. Ord and Areta C. (Cunningham) Luther. Also preceded in death by sister Phyllis (Luther) Wagner and brother James Luther.
Survived by wife of 62 years, Billie Sue (Kinzey) Luther; children Kelly Luther and J Merritt, New Florence; Eric Luther, New Florence. Grandsons Mitchel Luther and Mason Luther. Siblings Ivan “Bud” Luther and wife Laurie (Rager), Armagh; Judy McMullen & husband John, Armagh; Denny Luther and wife Sandy (Youngblood), Tionesta. Several nieces and nephews and brother-in-law Mark “Wood Eye” Kinzey, New Florence, and his daughter Hillary.
Tom was a tinkerer who was always fixing something. He enjoyed snowmobile, motor cycle, and quad riding along with jeeping with his son and friends. Tom served in the National Guard, 103rd Armor, Johnstown, was employed by Dale Oxygen, and a retiree of Seward Generating Station. He also enjoyed his school bus childern from his many years of driving for Lodestar. Tom's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Conemaugh ICU, Dr. Evans, and two Special nurses Gwen Dellett and Nicole Adams.
Friends received 6 pm till time of service 7 pm Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. Future inurnment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
