Obituary of Kenneth T. Loughner

Kenneth “Bud” T. Loughner, 93, of New Florence passed away Sunday March 22, 2020 at Ligonier Garden Personal Care Facility. Born July 10, 1926 in New Florence the son of late I. Eben and Sadie S. (Hamilton) Loughner. Survived by wife of 72 years, Dorothy L. (Brougher), daughters Janice (Ron) Devlin of Greencastle PA and Cindy Hause, New Florence; 4 granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, and one sister Naida Kelecava. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. During WWII he served on the USS Yorktown CV-10 Aircraft Carrier as a Marine gunner and participated in the occupation of Japan. He was a Charter Member and Past Post Commander (1958-1959) of the New Florence VFW Post 7622. 50-year member of Ligonier Lodge No. 331 F &AM and a member of the Coudersport Consistory, Coudersport, PA. Retired from Penelec GPU after 40 years of service. Member of New Florence United Methodist Church. During his retirement years he enjoyed woodworking, making numerous toys and furniture. He also enjoyed spending time at “The Cottage” at Penelacres, Deep Creek Lake and traveling to many locations. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bethlen Communities Home Health and Hospice, 327 West Vincent St., Ligonier, PA 15658 or the Activity Committee of Ligonier Garden Personal Care Facility, 2018 Rt 30 East, Ligonier, PA 15658. The family wishes to thank Bethlen Home Hospice and Ligonier Garden staff their dedication and care to our loved one.
