Obituary of Ruth E. James

Ruth E. James, 85, Bolivar, passed away December 29, 2022, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.  Born February 18, 1937, in Derry, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Denny Clark and Daisy Mae (Shawley) Claycomb.  Also preceded in death by first husband Charles Crawford, second husband Ronald “Ike” James; son Charles Crawford; grandson Travis Biss.  Brothers Jonas Clark, Frank Edward, Harry L, William Henry, John Baptist Claycomb; sisters Clair Irene Mulvihill; Alice Mae Cairns; Minnie Agnes Ferringer; and an infant brother and sister; son-in-law Tom Wisner and step grandson Tommy Wisner.

Survived by children Betty Crawford, Robinson; James Crawford, Bolivar; Perry Crawford, Bolivar; Mary Biss and husband Daniel, Bolivar; Nancy Penrose and husband Tim, Robinson; stepdaughter Vicky Wisner and special friend Cricket, Bolivar and long with several stepdaughters and stepsons.  Grandchildren Christina Johnson and husband Christopher, Brett Penrose and wife Heather, Cody Crawford, Ryan Penrose and girlfriend Jennifer Moore, and Tyler Crawford and special friend, and great-grandchildren Savannah, Colton, Aiden, Arionna, Ava, Ciara, Bentley, and Cayson.  Step grandchild David Wisner along with numerous other step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Ruth worked at Rolling Rock County Club and La Mantia’s in Bolivar, was a care giver for several Bolivar residents, and was a member of the Bolivar American Legion Auxiliary.

At Ruth’s request there will be no public viewing or service.  Private interment at Germany Lutheran Cemetery. Family assisted by Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence.
