Obituary of Karen L. Hunt

Karen L. Hunt, 63, of Fairfield Township went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 7, 2023. Born June 17, 1960, in Indiana, PA, she is the eldest daughter of the late Herbert and Janet G. (Detwiler) Jones.

 

Karen is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joel I. Hunt. She is the much-loved Mother of Jessie Rose & husband, Clint, Dilltown; Ryan Hunt & wife Jordan (Sheils), Fairfield Twp; Zachary Hunt & partner Joyce Heming, Homer City. She is the cherished Mema of Austin, Isaiah & Autumn Rose and Nash Hunt, and the treasured sister of Dann Jones, New Florence; Marcia Jones, Johnstown.

 

Karen devoted her life to her husband, children, and family. She delighted in serving those she loved, and did so tenderly, in many ways; while in some ways her spirit was quiet, she loved fiercely. Similarly, anyone who knew her can attest to the unmatched joy her grandchildren brought her.  Her face truly shone in a special way when they were together.

 

On any given day, even some of her hardest, one could find her cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, or reading her Bible to her heart’s content.  Her deep faith was infectious, and without a doubt the most defining quality of her character.  She walked with her Lord and Savior through it all, to the very end, and so very clearly epitomized the Proverbs woman.

 

"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
