Obituary of Alfred E. Long

Long, Alfred, 77, of New Florence passed on to his eternal home July 22, 2012 at home surrounded by his wife of 55 years Patty and other family members. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Born in Bolivar on November 19, 1934 the son of late Alex and Mary (Wambaugh) McElwee Long. Also preceded in death by siblings Margaret, Dorothy, Glen, Louis and Jerry McElwee, Alex, Lester, Christine, Viola, Ruth, Betty, Alex and Louise Long, and Nephew Jackie Boring. He is survived by his wife Patty (Boring) Long and was a special, loving uncle who helped raise Ilene, Jackie and Lethia Boring. He is also survived by a large host of other nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He was a very loving and gentle husband. The family would like to express their deepest heartfelt thanks to all the "Angels" of MediServe Hospice for their love and guidance during the family's difficult time. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St. New Florence where service will be held 11 am Wednesday Pastor Sharon Hamley officiating. Interment Fairfield Cemetery.
