Garland, James R., 79, Robinson died September 4, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown. Born July 25, 1933 in Robinson the son of late Ralph and Catherine (Foust) Garland. Also preceded in death by wife Janet (Heming) Garland; step-sister Margaret Hartman. Survived by children Sharon Anderson, Riverview, FL; Ronald L. Garland, Gainesville, FL; grandchildren Eric Gorman, Brush Valley; Aimee Gonzalez, Tampa. Fl; Randi Keller, Gainesville, FL; great-grandchildren Brittney, Jessica, Jordan, Michael, Kaylee and Colton; sister Margie Caldwell, New Florence; step-sister, Louise Long, Greensburg. The family would also like thank Jim's sister-in-law Roberta "Aunt Bertie" Heming and nieces Annie Elder and Jill Barbus for all their care and support for Jim. He was an US Army Veteran, retired purchasing agent for Florence Mining Co; owner/operator of J&J Sound Co; former Fire Chief for Bolivar Fire Co and enjoyed Blue Grass Music. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence where service will be held 11 am Friday. Pastor Edward Knapic officiating. Internment Germany Lutheran Cemetery. Military rite by local veteran's organization.
