Scanga, Ben, 85, New Florence, died November 24, 2012 at The Communities at Indian Haven Nursing Center. Born December 9, 1926 in New Kensington, the son of the late Frank and Eleanor (Magliocco) Scanga. Also preceded in death by these sisters and brother, Rose, Richard, Amelia and Jean. Survived by wife of 64 years Rose (Stillwagon) Scanga. Children Christopher, New Florence; Michael, Indiana, Corinne Schwartz, Pittsburgh; David, Wesley Chapel, FL; Brian, Indianapolis, IN; Eric, Bel Air, MD; Connie-Marie Puckett, Cape Elizabeth, ME; Cass Eiselman, Ernest; Carol, Seward; 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and theses sisters and brothers, Jill, Robert, Emma, Carl, Evelyn and Ted. Ben was known for his Wildrose Farm and it's "U-Pick-Strawberry". He was an accomplished woodworker. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward. Friends will be received 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 425 Bridge St., Seward. Father Robert Washko officiating. Internment St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Heifer International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202. www.heifer.org.
