Obituary of Leon Verba
Leon Verba, 90, Dilltown, passed away June 13, 2020 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born April 25, 1930 on the family farm in Buffington Twp. the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Spis) Verba. Also preceded in death by brothers Charles, John, Frank and Adolph Verba. Sisters Ann Verba, Pauline Verba, Josephine Marcus, Jennie Hurt, Lula Sammartano and Kathryn Hugar.
Survived by loving wife of 58 years, Denise (Napotnik) Verba. Daughters Diane Walton, Texas; and Connie Silk, Dilltown. Grandson Chad Walton, New York; and Lisa Steffey, Homer City. Great-grandson Matthew Steffey. Sister Elizabeth Faucett, Virginia. Special nephew Philip Marcus along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
Leon was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown plant and a farmer who enjoyed dealing in cattle, telling his many stories and jokes, and traveling to the Big Valley in the Belleville area.
Friends received 11 am till time of service at 1 pm Thursday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh. Pastor Thomas Phillips officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery.
