Obituary of Rose C. McGinnis

Rose C. (Heming) McGinnis, 101, Ligonier formerly of New Florence passed away October 12, 2020 at Ligonier Gardens. Born October 1, 1919 in Bedford she was the last surviving child of William Augustus “Guss” and Nancy Ellen (Diehl) Heming. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Everett E. McGinnis, granddaughter Megan Lytwynec, and these brothers and sisters Paul Heming, Agnes Kisamore, John Heming, Thomas Heming, George Heming, Roy Heming, Alice Cramer, Mary Hollen, twin brother Robert who was KIA during WW II, William Heming, and Cyril Heming and infant sibling. Survived by children Sharon L. McGinnis, Palmento, FL; Cameron E. McGinnis, Erie; and Mary E. McGinnis, Wilmington, NC; granddaughter Erin McGinnis. Rose was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward and the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Florence. When she still resided in New Florence, she was a member of Laurel Valley Senior Center, Senior Citizen Fellowship, and the Scallawags. She also worked for a number of years at Trimble’s Manufacturing Co. Rose was an excellent seamstress and produced at least 200 full quits and helped on hundreds of others.
