Angel. I called your mother ‘jewel” because she was a jewel. Our lives connected when she was a young kid who had to take on adult responsibilities. Throughout her life, amid the pleasures and hardships, her dominant characteristics were love, laughter, and compassion. These traits she passed on to you which you will always possess. I have always told your grandpa and Aunt Jill, if I ever run away, it will be to Jewel’s house. There, they could find me there in the company of a real friend, something that is hard to come by in anyone’s lifetime. I was at peace in her company, and I will miss that. She gave me one of the greatest gifts in my life that I will always treasure, you. Sincerely, Gram.
