Obituary of William A Glessner
William A. Glessner, Jr., 90, Glen Allen, VA, formerly of New Florence, PA passed away at home March 30, 2021 while surrounded by his family. Born August 24, 1930 in Johnstown, the son of late William A., Sr. and Anna Grace (Luther) Glessner. Also preceded in death by wife Fern A. (Allen) Glessner, sons Gregory J. Glessner and Randy J. Glessner, brother Dean Glessner, sisters Carol Mader and Bonnie Kime.
Survived by son William A. Glessner, III and wife Carleen (Sullivan), Mechanicsville, VA; daughter-in-law Louella Glessner, Glen Allen, VA; four grandchildren William IV, Ajo, AZ, Catherine Ann, Mechanicsville, VA, Arlene and Jonathan Brownfield, Clarksville, TN, and Brian Glessner, Glen Allen, VA, five great-grandchildren Conor and Alexis Harris, PaisleyRose, Esme, and Raelynn Brownfield, and Sister, Alice Mader, Three Rivers, MI.
Bill was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, New Florence, Cambria Lodge #278 Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite, a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War, and retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp, Johnstown Plant, and former New Florence council member. Bill enjoyed hunting and spending time with family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 8:00 a.m. till time of service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier Street, New Florence. Rev. Richard Sweeney officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown, PA immediately following the service.
