Obituary of Joanne June Boske

It is with great sadness that the family of Joanne (Wick) Boske, announces her passing on Friday, April 29, 2022, peacefully at her cottage home at Bethlen Communities.

Joanne was born June 18,1934, to the late Joseph C. and Helen (Patrick) Wick. 

She is survived by her loving and supportive daughter Heather Boske, her son Dan Robertson and fiancé Gail Carney, son Jamey and wife Debi Robertson, daughter Susan and husband Tommy Vanden Heuvel.  Grandchildren; Jessica (Scott) Cunningham, Brady (Michelle) Robertson, Carly Jo and D.J. Vanden Heuvel and great grandchildren; Ashleigh and Logan Bowman and Austin, Averie and Abbigail Robertson. Also survived by her two brothers John (Barbara) Wick and James Wick, loving nieces and nephews and her beloved rescue cat, Trey.

Joanne lived most of her life in Bolivar where she attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved to cook and enjoyed hosting family dinners. She worked at Annie’s Restaurant and shared amazingly funny stories of working there alongside her good friends Josie, Jeannie and Harriett.  

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Boske, a granddaughter Mackenzie Bowman, a brother, Frank Wick; three sisters, Celeste Nowinsky, Zona (Sue) Wible Cohen and Velma Wick Canzano.

Special thanks to the following who provided support and care and helped in so many ways; good friend Barb Kerr, Aly Stewart and the exceptional staff at Bethlen Communities Companion Care and Bethlen Hospice; Eric, Janine, Dana, Barbara, Jane, Molly, Tonya and Jim, to name just a few.

In honoring Joanne’s request, services are private.   Arrangements in care of Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, PA.  In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to Bethlen Hospice, 135 Kalassay Drive, Ligonier, PA 15658.
