Obituary of Sandra Helen James

Sandra Helen “Sandy” James, 73, Johnstown passed away June 7, 2022.  Born March 10, 1949, in Johnstown the daughter of Arthur H. James, Jr., and Helen L. “Shorty” (Walker) James.  Also preceded in death brother Edward A. James, niece Jessica D. James, and nephew Jeremy R. James.

Survived by brother Rod C. James and wife Darla R., Fairfield Twp.; sister Jennifer M. James, Pittsburgh; nephew Josh M. James and Lexie Graham, Daisytown, Washington County; great-niece Sheila R. Gustkey, East Conemaugh; and great-nephew Keagan James, Windber.

Sandy grew up in New Florence.  She was a member of New Florence United Methodist Church.  She was a 1967 graduate of Laurel Valley High School where she was a member of the band.  She was a past employee of Crown American Corporation, serving in Data Processing as a computer programmer.

Sandy enjoyed traveling to New York City to see theatre productions, playing piano, reading, doing puzzles and playing scrabble and traveling to many cemeteries in researching her families’ genealogy.

Friends received 1:00 pm Saturday till time of memorial service 2;00 pm Saturday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier Street, New Florence.  Pastor Sharon Hamley officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your local library or local community theatre.  Inurnment Armagh Cemetery.
