Obituary of Grace L Jones

Jones, Grace L (Liggett), 96, New Florence died March 28, 2011 at LaurelWood Care Center, Johnstown. Born June 21, 1914 in the village of Huff, W. Wheatfield Twp. the daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Liggett. Also preceded in death by husband George Robert; grandson Peter Jones; sister Mary Brush and brothers Robert Liggett, Edward Keller, and Arthur Keller. Survived by Son Robert A. Jones and wife Alice, New Florence; granddaughter Gweneth Dellett and husband Mark, New Florence; grandson Matthew Jones, Raleigh, NC; and great-granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Dellett. A 1933 graduate of Indiana Normal School (IUP). She began teaching in West Wheatfield Township, Indiana County at the Climax School in 1933. She taught at the New Florence Elementary School; both the Laurel Valley School District and Ligonier Valley School District at the Seward Elementary School until her retirement in 1976. Life member of the New Florence Trinity Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in the Women's Circle organizations. Was a member of the Indiana Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Priate service with Rev. Barry Young and interment at Bethel Cemetery will be held at the convience of the family.
