Gordie was a 1966 graduate of United High School. After graduating high school, he attended Penn State University before proudly serving in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and eventually retired from the Conemaugh Generating Station.  Gordie was known for his quick wit, sense of humor and providing nicknames for his family members and friends.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with Linda and driving his Corvette.  He had a love for animals and critters, feeding all the neighborhood stray cats (with nicknames for each) birds, fish, and turtles.  Upon retirement he and Linda lived their dream by spending winters in Florida and eventually moving to South Carolina.
