Obituary of Robert V Boring

Robert Vernon "Roytan" Boring - 54, Altoona passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Friday morning at his residence after complications resulting from pneumonia and brain tumors. He was born in Johnstown the son of Vernon Leroy "Runt" Boring and Betty Jean (Daugherty) Leidy who preceded him in death. Surviving is a son Robert Raymond (Boring) Schneider, wife Crystal, grandson Cody and granddaughter Leah "Leroy", sisters Patty Postgate, husband Ron of Seward, Vonda McConnell, with whom he resided, husband Randy of Altoona, Karen Nichols , husband Emanuel of Duncansville, Mindy Cobler, husband Robert of Hollidaysburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his nephew Ryan Boring, niece Shannon Postgate, Brothers: Ryan, Kevin, and Jeff, grandparents Raymond and Julia Boring , Harold and Emma Leidy. Robert was a 1977 graduate of United High School, Armagh and was employed as a Boilermaker Local Union 154. Roy enjoyed the simple life and the people that surrounded him, listening to music and watching the History channel and learning about Civil War. He enjoyed sitting on the porch with the morning sun at his face listening to the birds, having Mason share his snacks, his visits from Kenz - being called "Uncle Boob". His life can be summed up in the songs he listened to. As he climbs his "Stairway to Heaven" and becomes a "Freebird" he can say "I did it my way". A special thank you to his niece Jessica for the wonderful care and love she gave to him. Friends will be received from 2 till time of service 4 pm Monday July 29, 2013 at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home 392 E. Philadelphia Street Armagh. Interment will be at Brush Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Brush Valley In Roy's memory, take the time today to visit or phone a loved one.
