Pickle and I grew up down the street from each other. As young boys we were rarely apart, along with Harry Leslie, Bill Snavely, Kevin Boring and Bill Trimble we spent lots of time getting into and out of trouble. I remember one time when we were all about 9 when Pickle, Snavely and I were playing with model cars in Bill's garage and we got the "brilliant" idea to put gas on them set them on fire and crash them into the wooden wall of the garage. Fortunately, we were able to stop the fire from spreading but the Fire Department, of which both of our Dads were members, still came to investigate. Let's just say that all three of us were unable to sit down comfortably for several days as all of our parents were not very happy. Pickle was a good friend and nearly every time I returned to New Florence over the years I would stop by his house to say HI, and catch up. So long old friend, thanks for helping to make our childhood in New Florence so much fun. I will miss your laugh and smile. Fred Slick
