Obituary of Barbara Ann Garland
Barbara Ann Garland, 68, New Florence, passed away peacefully, April 1, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 9, 1954, in Ligonier the daughter of the late Richard B. “Dick” and Agnes Louise (Henderson) Gibson. Also preceded in death by husband and love of her life Lynn Jeffrey Garland, and in-laws Lee and Caroline Garland.
Survived by loving daughters Allyson (Brian) Fullem and Alysha (Brenton) McCauley. Five grandchildren Collin, Colton, Blake, Addison, and Raquel. Brothers Keith (Robin) Gibson and Rich (Irene Szanny) Gibson; nephew “son she never knew she wanted” Adam (Caroline) Gibson; her forever special aunt Romayne Galbraith, along with uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Barb and Lynn rekindled their love and married in 1995. Their love story was one for the books.
Photography was her passion. Barb traveled for photography near and far and would go to any length to capture the best picture. She gave back to the community through her love of photography by donating her time at local events behind the camera. She was employed by UPMC for over 40 years as a Medical Dosimetrist. Barb had a close circle of friends that she enjoyed spending time with.
Friends received 6-8 pm Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. A service to celebrate Barbs life will be held 11 am Thursday at Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church, 4617 Rt 711, Bolivar, Rev. Dr. J. Paul McCracken, officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Palmer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Squirrel Hill Hunting Club, Lifetime Hunt, 113 24th Sreet, New Florence, PA 15944.
