Obituary of Boyd W. Lichtenfels

Boyd W. “Hoople” Lichtenfels, 92, Robinson died October 15, 2013 at home. Born February 3, 1921 in Robinson son of the late Lester C. and Ethel (Nelson) Lichtenfels. Also preceded in death by brothers, Francis Lichtenfels and his wife Betty, Nelson Lichtenfels, Eugene Lichtenfels and his wife Gloria and Harry Lichtenfels; brother-in-law John Yarkowski. Survived by sister, Stella Yarkowski, Indiana; Howard Lichtenfels and wife Peggy, Robinson; James Lichtenfels and wife Joan, Bolivar; sister-in-law Lesta Lichtenfels, Robinson; numerous nieces and nephews. Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Conrail, a US Army veteran of WWII having served as a staff Sergeant. Life member of Duane Boring VFW Post 9310, Robinson and Charles Sutton American Legion Post 128, Bolivar and Conemaugh Valley Beagle Club. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mark and Virginia Sumers and to the Indiana VNA (Hospice). Friends received 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Friday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence, PA where service will be held 10 am Saturday. Rev. Paul Poersche Officiating. Internment Germany Lutheran Cemetery.
