Obituary of Corretta La-Rue Snyder

Corretta La-Rue (Tweedy) Snyder, 88, passed away on February 23, 2024.  She was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Rager) Tweedy, the seventh of eight children.  She was born in Vintondale (R.D. 1) on October 13, 1935.

In her younger years, she was an immaculate housekeeper, enjoyed cutting grass, having a garden and growing flowers; painting ceramics, and making floral arrangements for relatives.  You never saw her idle-- she was busy all the time. 

She worked for Nationwide Insurance Co. in Columbus, Ohio as a Policy-Issue Group Leader, and worked for Nationwide Insurance Co. in Harrisburg and Butler as a Group Leader.  She also worked for FMC (Syntron) as Supervisor over the Stenographic Center, Homer City and R&P Coal Co. in Indiana in the Sickness, Accident, and Compensations Department.

Surviving is her daughter Deborah L. Snyder, sister Betty Lou Ferri, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Harry R. Snyder, brothers Weldon, Williard (Martha), Warren (Corrine), sisters Vendetta June (Sam) Bifalco, Isabelle (Patsy) Pauleene and Bernadine (Francis) Lanzendorfer and special niece Joanne (Ferri) Urch.

At Corretta’s request there will be no viewing or visitation.  A Memorial service will be held at a later date for family members.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Stuart Funeral Home, Armagh.  The burial will be in the Armagh Cemetery
