Obituary of Edi E. Nesmith

Edi E. (Hollen) Nesmith,62, New Florence, went home peacefully to be with God, on Sunday May 26. 2024, after a long battle with cancer.  Edi was born July 3, 1961, to Theodore S. Hollen and Teresa Antionetta (Lorenson) Hollen, (from Italy) in Ligonier.  Edi and her family lived in Mainz, Germany for awhile when her father was stationed there.  Edi graduated from Laural Valley High School in 1979, she also graduated from Conemaugh School of Nursing as an LPN.  Edi worked as an LPN at Bethlen Home in Ligonier and Torrance State Hospital.  Edi was a spiritual person with a beautiful soul who touched the hearts of all that knew her.  She enjoyed watching birds, nature, traveling, camping, slot machines and spending time with her loved ones and her cats. 

Edi was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, Susie (Hollen) Erland, Riley Chesla and Augustus M. Anderson.

Edi is survived by her 3 cats Lady JuJu, and Ottis. Her 2 sons Richard and (Josh) Nesmith-Shultis of Nevada and Raymond and (Jamie) Nesmith of Latrobe; her younger sister Sonya Adams and family; ex-husband Everett Nesmith. Brother-in-law Ernie Erlandson, also many special friends, neighbors and extended family.

As per Edi’s request she will be cremated, no funeral or memorial service will be held.  In lieu of traditional mourning we request the joy of you to celebrate Edi’s life.  To infinity and beyond!
