Obituary of Glenn R. Shawley

Glenn Shawley, 78, Seward passed away May 26, 2024, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.  Born August 21, 1945, in Stahlstown the son of late Wilbert Shawley and Helen (Kuhns) Shawley, of Jones Mills.  In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by brother Bob Shawley, sister Faye Bowers, mother-in-law Sara Burd, and brother-in-law Skip Burd

In addition to his mother he is survived by wife of 52 years Debbie (Burd) Shawley, daughter Sue Plowman and husband Dan, Vintondale; grandchildren Wade and Sarah Plowman, both Vintondale, brother Carl Shawley, Stahlstown; sister Nancy Simpson, Jones Mills; father-in-law Pete Burd, Mount Pleasant; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John Burd and wife Cindy, Connellsville; and Cindy Arrotti and husband Fred, Scottdale; along with several nieces and nephews.

Glenn was a former employee of Walnut Hills Farm, Onedia Mine, and Laurel Valley Golf Club.  He enjoyed gardening, working with his tools and spending time in his garage.

Friends received 4 pm until time of service 8 pm Wednesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence.  Pastor Jim Pardee officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to one’s local Humane Society.
