Obituary of Albert R Montgomery

Montgomery, Albert R., 86, New Florence, went home to be with the Lord, November 12, 2013, in his home. Born May 15, 1927 in Tunnelton the son of late of late Charles and Roxie (Horrell) Montgomery.  Also preceded in death by wife of almost 50 years Leota Maxine (Dillon) Montgomery; sisters Louise Hancock and Patricia Shipp; brothers Thompson and Clarence Montgomery.  Survived by children Patricia Frantz, Indiana, Rachel Engle and husband, Sidney, Clymer, Margaret Kunkle and husband, Dennis, Indiana, and Donald and wife, Debbie (Davis), New Florence; granddaughters, Jennifer, Heather, Amanda, Kendra, Laurie, Nicole, Maxine and Elizabeth; grandsons, Nathan, Michael and Russell; 8 great-grandchildren.  Member of Shannon Creek Baptist Church, New Florence Senior Center, Hood-Vanatt American Legion Post 309, New Florence.  He was a veteran of US Marine Corps, a licensed minister, volunteer with the Fresh Air Fund Program, avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends received 7-9 pm Thursday and 2-4 & 7-9 pm Friday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence where service will be held 11 am Saturday. Pastor Roger Roadman officiating.  Internment Fairfield Cemetery.  Military rite by local veterans organization.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Shannon Creek Baptist Church, PO Box 388 or New Florence Senior Center, PO Box 366 both New Florence, PA 15944.
