Obituary of James F Allison

Allison, James F., 75, Dilltown passed away February 5, 2014 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born April 18, 1938 in Pittsburgh the son of late Paul and Louise (Hillenbrand) Allison. Jim is survived by his best friend and wife of 55 years Lucy “Bunda” (Mash) Allison. They had three children Kim Houston and husband Craig of Dilltown; Jim “Reek” Allison and wife Margie (Garvin) of Gas Center; Jeff Allison and wife Heidi (Cooper) of Dilltown. What followed was the birth of a family that dearly loved their father and grandfather with grandchildren Bucky Darr and wife Joy (Hall), Brandon Darr, Dakota Houston, Jackie (Allison) Treese, James F. Allison II, and Alyssa Allison. In addition Jim was fortunate to have four great-grandchildren that loved their pap, Conner and Cameron Darr, Aiden Darr and Hannah Allison Treese. Also survived by sister Mary Bowman and husband Dale, Armagh; sister-in-laws Gloria Allison and Sarah Allison and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Ron and Dave “Butch” Allison. Jim loved people and much preferred to sit and talk awhile more than anything else. He found great joy in helping others. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at the Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E Philadelphia St., Armagh where service will be held 11 am Saturday. Pastor Tom Phillips officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to VNA/Hospice, 850 Hospital Rd. Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
